This, in my not so humble opinion, effectively kills RSS, as a consumer blog and article consumption medium, once and for all. Sure enough, if you read Google trends , a natural interest in RSS fell by at least 50% back in 2013. RSS isn’t social. You can’t reply via RSS. You can’t share via RSS.

In perhaps one of my most controversial articles (unintentionally), I wrote a week or two ago about how both Twitter and Facebook both quietly removed RSS from user accounts and Pages. It appears that Facebook listened though, as there is now a "Subscribe via RSS" link on Facebook Pages, and the source now links to an atom feed for clients that want to auto-discover the feeds.

Suddenly, blog-like content is finding a serious home in places like LinkedIn , Medium and now, Facebook's Notes. It is because we are all content creators, publishers and skimmers of the feed. Many writers are putting more effort into those headlines, than the actual value of the content.
