To be fair, I’ve only included those I’ve actually used (Radian6, Sysomos, Spiral 16) or tested (Meltwater, SM2). You can also set up various searches from Google, Twitter, etc and run the RSS feeds from each search through Yahoo Pipes and have the resulting feed delivered to your inbox or RSS reader to monitor ongoing.

Unfortunately, Facebook keeps its data close to the vest for now, which is why Swix can't pull it out (and why companies like Radian6 can't monitor Facebook status updates from afar). I think the thing that struck me as particularly worthwhile talking about today was the deal with Radian6 / Salesforce and Twitter to give them real time firehose access to the Twitter tweets API , which as far as I know Twitter has never done that, has never given an individual vendor access at that level.
