If you’re concerned about your “standing” or social scores (cough, Klout, cough) in social media, then you have a panic attack. For the last couple of months, I was basically off Twitter, which I always thought was Klout’s platform du jour. If you have a strong community , they will be there when you come back.

The classic example is the recent move by Google to hide organic search terms from web analytics capture (under the disguise of user privacy). The SEO community is up in arms over it because they now have a harder time proving what they’re doing actually works. It needs to be analyzed and not just reported on.

Our analysis showed that although the follower numbers kept growing, this client was failing to reach the real key influencers of its community. Finding value in Klout like sites.
