Of course, as long as the Facebook page is managed properly –. For one, effort should be taken to make the Facebook page effective as a community tool. The main purpose of a website is usually to spread information, but Facebook is the only way to share that information while also drawing fans in to a community.

The Harley Owners Group – HOG – is one of better-known examples of an owned social community, dating back to 1983. swung rapidly away from owned social community and toward social sharecropping; engaging with consumers on leased digital real estate. That’s not a customer community, it’s catching content lightning in a bottle.

Tweet It’s amazing to me how quickly social media and community management have exploded in the job market. There’s some great resources out there to target your job search when it comes to social media and community management jobs. I’ve tried to avoid all the repetitive job sites that “claim” to be focused on social media/community, but are just glorified job boards with social media jobs listed at the top. Just use “social media” or “community manager” to get started.
