Many companies partake in this “shiny toy syndrome&# and do it all without a plan or strategy in place. Just do it while giving back to the community as well. They don’t follow guidelines on contact form policies on what will be covered and what won’t be. Want to self promote? Engage in dialogue.

Despite the title of the post, having worked as the social media manager for Fortune 500 companies, and a lot of knowledge here being totally personal, I do not think of myself as an expert. All Wikipedia articles and other encyclopedic content must be written from a neutral point of view. It's no wonder Wikipedia has advised against PR pros editing articles directly. That's a big reason why most PR professionals have avoided Wikipedia for so long, fearful of the wrath of the editing community.

My uncle knows a young girl from his community, a recent college graduate, who is looking for a social media job. Go through each individual account and set guidelines where you both can agree to what you feel comfortable revealing online. It was a close knit community and some of us still hold true to the original purpose of the site.
