I work for a growing software company and they don’t have much of a footprint in the social media world. Like many companies, they didn’t know the difference between Twitter and a blog or that Facebook was for more than keeping in touch with their friends and family. That is until recently. Directory Submissions By nature, directory links are of a very poor quality. Sometimes I’ll also pay $100 or so to BOTW.org which is a human-filtered directory which can give me some great link juice. As soon as I’m cached in this directory I find my rankings to increase almost instantly. Yes and no.

Colin has developed a searchable directory of listings, and also had the kindness (and good web strategy) to pull out from those listings and create a blog post.
