Use A Bookmarklet. A bookmarklet is a tiny program (written in javascript) that fits inside a bookmark. The Official Google Reader Blog has a couple of really nice bookmarklets you can use while you web-surf. The 2nd bookmarklet can also be found on the Notes link within Google Reader. According to Wikipedia, the original use of Smart Tags was a selection-based search feature found in later versions of Microsoft Word, and beta versions of the Internet Explorer 6 web browser. And you can SmartTag from anywhere on the Web with a bookmarklet and from any mobile device using Netvibes Mobile.

With its gobs of storage, speed and tremendous search/tagging capabilities , you can transform it into a personal nerve center thats available from any computer or mobile device. I scan 275 RSS feeds in Google Reader and I use dozens of bookmarklets and shortcuts to help me manage it all. Gmail does not have a to-do list feature - yet.

I don’t use it for anything heavy, but it’s a perfect mobile Twitter experience anytime I need to post, read or just check in. Being able to access my documents anywhere through the online, desktop and mobile syncing is incredibly convenient for me. The best part is it operates through a bookmarklet. I might write part of my article, and then add new ideas in later on. I’m often on the go as well, working from home and the office. Why you should use it?
