Are You Seeing ALL of Your Facebook Friends’, Groups’ and Pages’ Statuses on Your Updated Facebook Home Page? Are You Sure?
If you’ve recently received the new Facebook home page update you may not be seeing the status update of ALL of your friends, groups and pages…
I clicked off of my Facebook home page to go to another site and when I went back to Facebook my News Feed said that it had “no recent updates to display.” I thought this was peculiar because I have almost 900 “friends”, so surely someone has had something to say in the last few minutes.
Then I noticed the “Edit Options” link in the bottom right-hand corner of the page so I clicked it and saw the following window:
So it looks like, even though I have close to 900 people whose statuses I had been seeing in my old News Feed – the default setting with this update is to only show me 250 friends’ updates.
Moral of the story – click on your “Edit Settings” link in the bottom right hand corner of your home page and increase the number of friends whose statuses you want to see (if you do want to see more than the number already there).
I’m not sure if there is a limit, and I’m not even sure if they’re including Fan Pages and Groups as part of this count – if you’re worried about missing anything, I’d try to set the limit much higher than the total of all of your Friends, Groups, & Fan Pages just to be on the safe side.
Hope this helps!
Since a lot of this is observation/speculation, if you experience something different by all means please leave a comment and help everyone out!
Thanks!

How do you get to the news feed settings page?

When you are looking at your news feed scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen and in the bottom right there will be a link that says “Edit Settings” – for more help visit my FB page at http://facebook.com/sayingitsocial. Thanks!
