The Protein Databank (PDB) is the single worldwide repository for the processing and distribution of 3-D structure data of large molecules of proteins and nucleic acids (Berman, Bourne, & Westbrook, 2004). Wikipedia uses community vetting in a different way. PDB was founded in 1971 and was a pioneer in Community Data Systems.
