How to open the chrome task manager
To open the chrome task manager all you have to do is click on the more button or the “three dots“, go over to “More tools” and then click on the Task Manager option.
You can also press Shift+Esc on Windows or Search+Esc on Chrome OS as an alternative.
You may see a list of all tabs, extensions, and processes that are running in the browser now that you’ve successfully accessed the task manager.
How to end any troublesome processes?
Ending troublesome processes from this menu can come in handy when an extension or tab is not responding properly or stops responding altogether. You can do this by clicking on the process and then selecting “End Process”.
To kill more than one process at a time just hold down the Shift or Ctrl key or the Command key on mac to highlight multiple processes from the list and then hit the “End Process” button.
How to view which resources tasks are using?
You can also use the chrome task manager to view which resources each of the tasks are using up since chrome has over 20 categories that you can add as new columns. All you have to do is right-click on a task and a context menu will appear with a list full of available stats you can choose from.
You can click on any additional categories to add them to the task manager. Categories with a checkmark beside them are the ones that are already displayed. To remove a specific stat click on the category to remove the checkmark.
You can also sort the columns by clicking on a heading.
