Former president Donald Trump’s 2024 election campaign started selling an “official” mugshot photo on Tuesday. But the mugshot is completely fake.
“Order your Official Trump Mugshot T-Shirt TODAY!” Trump’s campaign posted to social media on Tuesday.
Trump was arraigned in New York on Tuesday afternoon and reportedly faces 34 felony charges relating to a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels in the lead up to the 2016 presidential election. Trump pleaded not guilty to all federal charges, according to CNN.
But a mugshot was reportedly not taken when Trump was arrested Tuesday. The mugshot on the t-shirts being sold by the Trump campaign isn’t real. The t-shirt is being sold for $36 and reads “NOT GUILTY” underneath.
Many fake mugshots of Trump went viral over the past week following the announcement that a federal grand jury had indicted the former president. Those mugshots were often created using Midjourney and other artificial intelligence tools that allow users to simply input text, which then creates photo-realistic images.

Trump’s campaign claims the former president has raised more than $7 million since this past Thursday when news of the indictment first broke.
Trump has taken to his social media platform Truth Social repeatedly since the indictment to whip his supporters into a frenzy, even saying that Alvin Bragg, the prosecutor who brought the case, should indict himself. Many of the completely unhinged messages were in all-caps.
“VERY UNFAIR VENUE, WITH SOME AREAS THAT VOTED 1% REPUBLICAN. THIS CASE SHOULD BE MOVED TO NEARBY STATEN ISLAND - WOULD BE A VERY FAIR AND SECURE LOCATION FOR THE TRIAL. ADDITIONALLY, THE HIGHLY PARTISAN JUDGE & HIS FAMILY ARE WELL KNOWN TRUMP HATERS. HE WAS AN UNFAIR DISASTER ON A PREVIOUS TRUMP RELATED CASE, WOULDN’T RECUSE, GAVE HORRIBLE JURY INSTRUCTIONS, & IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH DURING THE WITCH HUNT TRIAL. HIS DAUGHTER WORKED FOR ‘KAMALA’ & NOW THE BIDEN-HARRIS CAMPAIGN. KANGAROO COURT!!!” Trump wrote.
Maybe the Trump campaign should consider posting that mass of text on a t-shirt.
