Don’t forget back in 2004, David Storey paid $26,500 in Entropia , then Jon Jacobs invested $100,000 in a virtual space station in Entropia in November 2005, and of course Anshe Chung became a millionaire via Second Life in 2006. If I had the money and time, I think I would try to make investments in this kind of virtual worlds.

They understand that the boundaries of the “human world&# have not disappeared in the virtual world. Just because I choose to reach out to you, comment on your blog post, follow you on Twitter, become your Facebook friend, or join your LinkedIn group, it was a desire for me to possibly get to know you in the future.

So I tend to keep an eye on how virtual goods are coming along. When I took out the patent – pre Facebook, pre Twitter – it was impossible to explain to investors how pixel products were going to jump from closed game worlds (Everquest) into the real world. 2009 may have seen revenues (USA) of $1billion.

world, we can easily choose how much of ourselves we reveal and to whom. In the virtual world, things are much more complicated. Not surprisingly, she has since toned down her page so that it represents her professional personality with a touch of the social side without any over-the-top content or photos.

With the advent of LinkedIn , Facebook , Twitter and an endless list of other networks, our connections are global. As with any relationship, when someone starts to make you feel uncomfortable for any reason, even when you feel you had initially found an affinity though virtual interactions, you have to change course immediately.
