Now we’re seeing another significant player in a similar move, as Toronto-based Sysomos is acquired by news wire service Marketwire. First reported by the Startup North blog , the news was later confirmed by Sysomos, although their blog comment and tweet have both since been deleted. Update: Sysomos has confirmed the acquisition.

The announcement's not exactly a surprise—Radian6 was the obvious acquisition target in social media analysis (SMA), and their platform had supported Salesforce integration since mid-2009. The Radian6 deal says a lot about interest in social CRM, or the integration of social media monitoring and customer relationship management.

Certainly, it’s not a comprehensive influence formula like Klout , or other Twitter-influence arbiters ( interesting study this week from Sysomos ), but it’s easy to calculate, and I think it makes sense. So, I’ve started to look at followers per tweet as a metric that focuses on the efficiency of time spent.

To be fair, I’ve only included those I’ve actually used (Radian6, Sysomos, Spiral 16) or tested (Meltwater, SM2). However, many of the tools I mentioned above, Radian 6, Sysomos, etc, have a management/response component included in their workflow model. Also, thanks for having Sysomos in your comparison.
