Workshop training on social media strategy and campaigns – I’m teaching (doing a practical session, showing how to set up Facebook, Twitter, blog etc) an afternoon course with Inforum Group. You’ll see how to build a social media monitoring dashboard, set up social media press release site, learn the difference between a 9 step social media strategy, a 5 step campaign and so on.   • Session 1 How do you save time and energy monitoring ALL those social media sites? This session will show you how!
  • Session 2 Social Media News Room. How can you provide press releases that will be read and passed on through social media and published by journalists? Did you know you can measure the influence of a blogger or Twitter? How do you measure ‘sentiment’ online when people are talking about your policies or district? Learn here!
  • Session 3 What is the difference between a social media strategy and a social media campaign? Having a Facebook fanpage and a Twitter account is not a “strategy” – this session gives you the steps to developing both.

Since 2005, Laurel has been teaching online community management at the University of Sydney, Australian Film and TV School, Metro Film School, and she has been managing virtual communities since 1989. In the last few months Laurel has appeared on Finance Quarter, Lateline, 7:30 Report, Midday Report ABC, Radio National, and in the Australian Financial Review, The Australian, and other media channels. AdAge named in the Top 150 Media Bloggers, and she is on Google Plus’ Recommended List. Laurel has offered her time for this workshop for our members at a very special ticket price.

  13. Any chance of you presenting this session at Bathurst? I attended one of your 2-day sessions here at Citigate Mount Panorama (since sold and now known as Rydges Mt Panorama) and got SO much out of it, even though it was just an intro course. I’m ready to get seriously involved and keen… time-short, of course…. maybe the local Bathurst Business Chamber or BEC would consider subsidising?

  15. Wow there is really a social media course and there is even a difference between social media strategy over social media campaign. Thanks for this information. It’s interesting though. Social media is the next big thing. I’d love to attend and I hope it is offered in Asia!

  16. I agree with KinsgstonSchool. These students are very lucky to have such a deoetvd teacher. I have a daughter with Special Needs and would be thrilled if she had a teacher like this that truly cares about, and loves her students. She fills their days with quality time and useful activities.Please take care of yourself and find time for you, so you don’t burn out.
