Building on a proven track record of ‘F-commerce’ innovation and creativity, SortPrice.com has added a new feature to its popular Store Application for Facebook Platform that gives merchants the ability to offer Flash Sales to their Facebook fans and friends.
The Flash Sale component is the latest in a long line of upgrades made to SortPrice’s Store Application, which is already used by more than 1,500 national merchants, in the last six months.
“We’re really excited to offer this feature, since Flash Sales and the daily deal models have proven to be very effective and popular tools for retailers,” said Doron Simovitch, SortPrice co-founder and CEO. “Shoppers love such deals for their exclusivity and merchants can really capitalize on that potential by quickly and easily incorporating flash sales into their overall social shopping offerings.”
As its name suggests, the Flash Sale feature allows retailers to list a specific product at a discounted price for a limited time on their SortPrice-built Facebook stores. As such, the feature can be used if a merchant has a high volume of specific merchandise that needs to be sold quickly or simply as another reward or incentive for their Facebook fans.
Adding to the overall value of the tool itself, the process to list a Flash Sale takes less than two minutes. SortPrice merchants can access the feature in their dedicated merchant management console, where they pick an item from their catalog of products to offer, set the time frame for the sale, affix the discounted price and add any applicable promotional codes.
The Flash Sale is then immediately posted to their Facebook store and Page, complete with a product image and description, a countdown clock alerting shoppers how long they have to take advantage of the deal and a box to enter the promo code. SortPrice built the feature to include all of the usual social shopping features—shoppers can Like or comment on Flash Sale listings and share them with their Facebook friends as well.
Since introducing the original Store Application in October 2008, SortPrice.com has built Facebook stores for more than 1,500 national retailers of every size, offering them a host of customization options and promotional tools to maximize their Facebook presence. Those merchants collectively posted more than $3.78 billion worth of merchandise on their Facebook stores in 2010.
SortPrice.com, founded in 2004, has grown into one of the internet’s most popular shopping search engines. With advanced search technology and a simple interface, the site features millions of products from thousands of merchants nationwide.
