More than 80,000 entries of footage from 197 different countries were submitted to Youtube – all recorded by people on the 24th of July to document this day and to show the rest of the world a glimpse of their life. As a smart way of showing all the footage, Youtube has created an online interactive gallery on their channel.

The pizza chain HELL , located in New Zealand, has created something to entertain their customers with and to give them the control in an interactive YouTube adventure. YouTube has been a great place to publish fun ad videos in the hope that they will go viral. This is certainly a different way of using YouTube.

Personally, I think it’s a great interactive video – and like previous YouTube takeover campaigns from for example Tipp-Ex and Sly Stallone , Desperados takes over the YouTube interface, smashing it up and making it their own. At first sight, the video looks like a regular one, but it’s not.

Tweet A lot of videos and forums where opinions are crowdsourced have recently come to my attention. A good example of this is Michael Jackson’s new video for the song “Behind the Mask&#. Using a split-pane interface, they could then line up their video with Jackson’s in order to follow the directions.

The part I found the best about the entire thing, was two robot arms assembling images for the gallery, giving it a hi- tech space age look :-) Also the videos you are a part of and the ones you like and play are on one of the walls of the gallery.
