Turning this setting on in WordPress allows readers to respond directly to each other and not just show up as the most recent comment. Whether it is the native WordPress system or a third party client like DISQUS , Livefyre , Echo or Intense Debate (my favorite), you need to choose the best system that fosters community.

But I got tired with that design so I clicked a few buttons in the WordPress dashboard and voila! I also got tired of the Twitter and Facebook “like&# buttons at the top of each article — since those links are also at the articles’ bottoms — so removed those as well.

I used to do this for you. I also set up rules to moderate new commentators to help eliminate spam, and I used a wonderful anti-spam plugin with the G.A.S.P.

You were prevented from this sort of social conversational integration with the built-in WordPress commenting system that this blog employed since 2008. Many people availed themselves of the optional input of a Twitter name and many other people clicked your social links. Try it out. Livefyre promotes commenting through social media.
