Better late than never: On Monday, Twitter announced the ability to apply stickers to photos, but with an interesting twist.

Senior product manager Sasank Reddy wrote in a blog post that Twitter’s new #Stickers act as “visual hashtags,” meaning that when a Twitter user taps on a sticker, they will see a timeline of public photos where that same sticker was used.

Reddy wrote that the ability to add stickers “will be rolling out over the next few weeks” for iOS and Android, and the stickers will be viewable via Twitter.com,
