[Twitter] Experts in the Industry: Patrick Moran (19 of 45)
Upon first meeting Patrick, I liked him immediately, mainly because he and I have a similar sense of humor (check out his Twitter stream to see what I'm talking about). While Patrick is self-admittedly not a prolific blogger, he's a madman on Facebook and Twitter and can throw down a blog comment like nobodies business. Patrick Moran , CMO of Mzinga, is not only a friend, he's my former manager (for a couple of months anyway). If you had $10 million to invest in one company and one company only based on their use of “social,” which company would it be and why? Barack Obama.

[Twitter] Your Ultimate Guide to Creating Amazing Content that Draws Readers Into Your Blog
Writing takes a lot of focus and energy, so try using the Pomodoro technique or similar to write in short bursts … and don’t check Twitter / Facebook / your email until the time is up. These are some basics that you can do for every post: Link to your post on Twitter. Don’t email the top five bloggers in your niche for this – choose people who you already have a relationship with (perhaps through Twitter or commenting on one another’s blogs). This is a guest contribution from Ali Luke. Does your blog lack something? It feels like no-one’s reading. Think about it.

I was recently quoted in a CNN story on online dating and online matrimony in India. said that I don’t see a dating site working in India, as Indian women are unlikely to post their profiles to it, given India’s rather conservative social context. Earlier, I had made similar comments in a NYT story on online dating in India. Here is the full text of the CNN story: Can India be persuaded to date online? By Catriona Davies for CNN. That's a total of $100k per year.    Let's assume the typical online newspaper advertising rates are $15 CPM (cost per 1000 impressions).    Every time impression is therefore worth $0.015 (more specialized sectors can charge more).

If you’re using Twitter, dive into Twitter Search and find people talking about what you want to talk about: a location, or a product, or a kind of business, and make some new connections. I asked a question on LinkedIn: “What have you used LinkedIn for today?&#. Here’s a quick screen swipe of what people said: I asked the question for two reasons: 1.) to know the answer, and 2.) because it was a way to feed my network. In this case, it was a way to feed it by letting people reflect. There’s an interesting experience that comes with reflection.

In a blog post last week, Dell revealed that it has generated more than $2 million in revenue from @DellOutlet, one of its many Twitter sites. Late last year, there were some headlines about Dell crossing the $1 million mark via Twitter and it’s only gotten bigger since then. These would be only accessible via the various social media outposts they use to share their story like on RSS, syndicated Blogs, Facebook, and Twitter. How did they do it? With a coupon code! Wow, now that’s inventive. My point is Dell isn’t using any secret sauce – its just plain old common sense.

While it’s not unlikely that bloggers will read Twitip, that site is at once far more focused (Twitter tips only!) Most bloggers I know want to reduce their bounce rates.

It essentially allowed you to search for a keyword then see what related keywords return in their SERPs. Then you can look at related keywords to that keyword, etc. Here’s an example. So what benefit do you get out of this? You can use it as another networking tool.
