Earlier today I asked folks on Twitter and Facebook what their favorite holiday/Christmas songs were; prompted, no doubt, by the music I’m listening to. [Twitter] My Two-step Social Media Starter Plan
After I took over several Twitter accounts earlier this year, I quickly realized that to get interaction on Twitter I needed to do one of two things: Be interesting. When I first decided to go this route, I followed a lot of people on Twitter and then reposted the same links they had (usually without giving them a mention or anything). Buffer also helps you build relationships on Twitter by prompting you to follow and/or thank those that retweet your tweets. This guest post is by Eric Binnion of Art of Blog. You can’t deny the power of social media. Step 1.

'This is a guest contribution from Benjamin Taylor, of Eloqua. At the core, one of the biggest goals of social media is to foster and maintain engagement.  Anyone can create a social media account, but one of the hardest parts is to determine what kind of content you should be sharing. It’s safe to say that you have a good idea of what your niche or market finds valuable, but that is only a piece of the puzzle.

[Twitter] Traffic Technique 3: Online Advertising
Pretty much everyone online uses search engines, but does your target audience use Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter … or not? When bloggers think of online advertising, they usually think first of selling it, rather than buying it. But buying ad space can be a great traffic-generation technique if you’re careful in terms of how you go about it. There are really two types of advertising—brand advertising, and tactical or action-oriented advertising—and for traffic generation purposes, you’ll probably want to focus on the second type. the ad space. the ad. Think of the great orators of our time.the pauses between words were often more powerful then the words themselves. So how can we pause to create a stronger engagement? We can listen more than create. We can tell part of the story and let the readers, audience etc finish the story in their own context. We can provide ideas rather than solutions, questions rather than answers.and then allow others to find their own truth. brand

[Twitter] Why Char-Broil’s Blogger Outreach Program Gives Me the Warm and Fuzzies
She loves the collaborative elements of digital and social marketing so don''t hesitate to reach out to her at any time at kristen@grouphigh.com or follow her on Twitter on @KristenWords  and @GroupHigh. 'A few months ago I was struck by the number of posts floating around that discuss digital marketing “fails,” and blogger outreach gone bad—so many posts that just focused on what not to do. While these posts are important, educational, and often very funny I had trouble finding positive examples of PR professionals going above and beyond when it came to blogger outreach. Enjoy! Love it.

[Twitter] Launching the 365 Full Frame Project #365FF
Generally, these photos will be posted on the 365 blog, Pinterest , Google+ , Twitter and a cropped version on Instagram. 'A couple of weeks ago I asked folks to consider the 365 Full Frame project. Today the project offically launches as a photo blog. The project began publishing on Friday to help populate the site for today’s launch. The featured image for this post is today’s photo, a shot of McWay Falls in Big Sur. For the remaining 361 days starting tomorrow, the project will publish one high resolution full frame photo a day at 4:00 p.m. More on #365FF.

    [Twitter] Five for Friday
Well Jeff Jarvis did too, and he leveraged Twitter to share his distaste for the folks we’ve got playing Russian roulette with our future. I love productive and quick weeks. For some reason everything aligned perfectly and I had no real wasted time and got a lot done while the time flew bye. Now that it is Friday, I can look forward to a weekend of relaxing with Mrs. & baby Espo and a viewing of the new Harry Potter flick. How was your week? Any big plans for the weekend? Have a good one and I’ll catch you on Monday, until then here’s this week’s edition of Five for Friday.

    [Twitter] Don't burn bridges
After the sale, offer customers ways to keep in touch with the company that they are comfortable with – email, blog, text, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.  For example, CoTweet recently put out a research report, Twitter X-Factors , which showed some pretty interesting numbers when comparing regular Twitters users to all other consumers. Seventy-two percent of Twitter users blog compared to 14 percent of the rest of consumers and 61 percent of these users comment on blogs forty points higher than the rest of consumers. How do we fix this? Sounds easy right? So what?

[Twitter] Six Reasons to Practice Social Media Authenticity
Follow him on Twitter @tylerorchard  or find him on  LinkedIn. Today’s guest post is written by Tyler Orchard. . The popularization of social media has created two very different environments. On one hand, social media has produced a world of  vast connectivity. Consumers and professionals are linked without boundary. Barriers that once limited engagement are overcome with new ways to network. Social media has offered people unconfined opportunities to tap into conversations that were once hidden. Social media promotes transparency, authenticity, and openness. Clear Operators.

[Twitter] Social Pros 18 – Ike Pigott, Alabama Power
LinkedIn certainly has its place, but for us, the activity on Twitter dwarfs that that we see on LinkedIn. You have that information annuity both in Google and in other benefits that Twitter and LinkedIn and Facebook simply don’t accrue. find that Twitter and Google+ serve that purpose in a more public way. Then, more public things like Twitter and Facebook and Google+ on the other side. We’ve got one recruiter at Alabama Power who’s very active on Twitter. That just because you have Twitter doesn’t mean you’re on it 24/7.
