What do you think about creating social media & marketing content by creating mashups like YouTube+Twitter or YouTube+Amazon? For the interview with Seth Godin , he suggested a mashup of YouTube and Amazon. And for the preview of the Facebook movie , he shared a mashup of YouTube and Twitter. I think it’s neat.

Think about the tools that line the perimeter of a garage. Each tool is bought and used for a specific purpose. Now, think about the tools that comprise your online life. I use YouTube to find videos and add them to my playlists for future playback. As for other social sites, I use Reddit to respond to randomness.

This time around, instead of embedding multiple screenshots of people’s responses from a random moment in time, I introduce a social media tool called Storify — which enables sharing of tweets, Facebook updates, Youtube videos, Flickr photos, and other social content — to tell a story.

There are so many people telling you so many different tips to use so many different social media tools. From doing this on Facebook to that on Flickr to something else on YouTube, it seems the rush to keep moving never stops. It’s normal to feel trapped and lost and not know how to keep moving. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube are a few of the big boys for community building. Use the tools you have at your disposal. Social media is ripe with places that we can connect and further enhance a sense of community. The more places your readers can see you and get to know you – AND each other, the better.

This is a hidden gem amongst the abundance of Twitter tools out there. I find this the most useful Twitter tool out there. Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, and many other social sites offer this feature. It’s also a good way to find users with the similar interests as you. Use Follower Wonk. Provide interesting content!
