You see, lots of bloggers have their blog posts syndicated on other sites that aggregate content, and sometimes we write posts specific to a site just to get our names in front of more readers who frequent that particular web site. Really it boils down to three things.

What Twitter’s Rate Limit Changes Mean to You

Twitter recently announced new rate limits on how many “hits” to the API it will allow. Twitter is changing the number of times the application can do that from 350 per hour to 60. In this diagram taken from the Twitter developer blog they break Twitter’s ecosystem up into 4 quadrants.

Google+ and World Domination

The network itself is reminiscent of a mix of the best features of FriendFeed , Facebook and a few other networks, and as Kit Eaton pointed out in her Google+ post on Fast Company the network seems positioned to take over from Foursquare , Instagram , Facebook and maybe even Twitter and Quora.

Make sure you add links to your other networks, your blog and your syndicated content ( here’s how ). Hmm, this is interesting since the accounts are connected to your Google profile, but so far there’s no way to say, share a message from Google+ to Twitter. Fill out your about section. Connected Accounts. Mute posts.

What was the most important thing you learned about social media this year?

FYI profile images link to Twitter and names link to blogs or websites. When crafting a strategy for nonprofits, don’t assume the folks who ‘like’ you in Facebook are also going to follow you on Twitter or take the same type of actions. If I were you I’d spend some time getting to know these folks.
