Almost exactly a year ago, I observed Kathryn Peck represent EA SPORTS on Twitter. What’s a typical day like for you as the EA SPORTS Active Community Manager? There are a number of channels (Facebook, Twitter, forums, etc.) How (and when) did you get to be the Community Manager for EA Sports Active?

Many people have suggested that we expand the site to include other topics such as entertainment, sports, and the like. Just a couple of the initiatives we’re currently working on are integrating Facebook and Twitter logins, and adding more community features. We’ve worked to stay true to that niche.

I, too, find that Twitter has been incredibly powerful for me to connect with real life colleagues, readers of Techipedia, family, and everyone in between. I’m also something of a Twitter purist. Enter a second Twitter account. With Twitter being so incredibly large and vast, there are different types of mini-communities.

Social media connections are those I know through a variety of online forums, the blogosphere, Twitter, and the like (but I generally don’t befriend someone immediately; I still give it time).
