This era of Coronavirus and social distancing can lead to strange bedfellows. In the case of Arcis Golf and the TOROSIETE Museum of Contemporary Art, the need to go virtual forged an unusual team.

A top operator of public and private golf clubs in the U.S., Arcis Golf runs 61 properties in 13 states. Meanwhile, the TOROSIETE Museum of Contemporary Art is an online, virtual museum celebrating emerging contemporary artists worldwide. The golf club operators and 21st century art museum came together recently to create and promote a new virtual gallery exhibition for members of Arcis clubs.

The partnership is part of Arcis Golf’s ongoing efforts to reinvent the modern golf club experience by introducing arts and entertainment. The TOROSIETE exhibits allow club members to enjoy contemporary art in a “real time, true-to-scale environment” as if they were there in person.

According to Ferdinand Ocasio Tomlin, President and Curator of TOROSIETE, the gallery will offers exclusive video content, artist documentaries, and Q&As to provide insight into the inspiration and stories behind individual paintings. More than 30 artists representing more than 10 countries will be included.

“The members will be able to develop a close relationship with our artists, which is something you can’t get in a physical museum or gallery,” Tomlin says. “Plus, with our platform, we can bring exhibitions from all over the world to our viewers. We will never replace physical galleries and museums, but we can put people ‘inside’ the exhibition to provide a more in-depth experience.”

The first two artists featured in the Arcis and TOROSIETE virtual partnership are Cuban native Noel Suarez (longtime resident artist aboard Oceania Cruise Lines) and Beatrix Ost (artist, writer and fashion designer). Arcis members will have the option of purchasing original pieces of artwork, or hand-signed, limited edition fine art prints.

According to Blake S. Walker, Founder and CEO of Arcis Golf, the new working relationship with TOROSIETE provides club members with an interactive and immersive experience celebrating the best of emerging contemporary artists.

“Now more than ever, each of us finds ourselves searching for both a greater sense of connection and community,” Walker says, recognizing the challenges of enjoying art and recreation during a pandemic. “We are proud and honored to bring forward such rich curated experiences, bespoke content and more for our members to enjoy.”
