• How to create a social media strategy
• Feed the content monster with Feedly
• Manage conversations for multiple accounts
• Easy-to-use daily and weekly social media task lists
• Creating a workflow that works using shortcuts for time management

One important aspect of smart social media for brands is Feeding the Content Monster or filling your content calendar. Here are some ideas for you:

Load your social media content calendar: Publishing to social media is integral to any social marketing strategy. Sharing social content helps boost reach, increase following, and establish your brand as a thought leader. When filling up a social media calendar, ensure your team satisfies each individual network's content needs. Since no two social media audiences are the same, there are no hard-and-fast rules about how often to post. However, there are guidelines out there to use as a jumping-off point:

  • Post six to nine times to Twitter
  • Post one to two times to Facebook
  • Post one to three times to Instagram
  • Post one to two times to LinkedIn

Daily checklist:

  • Respond to all messages
  • Reciprocate follows from others
  • Review and reply to mentions
  • Track relevant keywords and phrases on social media
  • Explore other social media profiles
  • Select and prepare content to share
  • Interact with customers and other accounts
  • Build new connections daily by commenting on other posts

Weekly checklist:

  • Check weekly stats for all social media profiles
  • Connect and engage with industry influencers
  • Weekly goals check-in
  • Hold a brainstorming session
  • Attend a (virtual) event, session, or a chat
  • Check up and update social media ads

Create unique social imagery to share: According to Twitter, tweets that contain images receive an average 35 percent boost in retweets. Lean on your design teams to create enough shareable social media images for your networks and profiles. Or make your own!

I love to use Canva for my graphics.

  5. Hi Peg,
I am a beginner of learning promoting brands in social media. I wish to promote my products in FB. A dumb question would like to refer you as I am not very familiar on promoting products in social media. To create a page must first have a fb account – which is so call “admin” to manage the page, right? I do not want to use personal fb to create page, so I have to create another new fb account? Looks forward to hear from you & thanks in advance. Rachel
