All the updates you need to know about for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin to grow your business and keep ahead of the curve! PLUS A HUGE TIP!

After the slow month of April, May seems to be back on track with every other fast-paced, exciting month in the world of social media. Let’s dive right in!

Facebook

Facebook Live! Facebook Live lets you broadcast whatever your smartphone can see for up to 90 minutes at a time. Its live video streaming tool instantly delivers an outlet for important content distribution – perfect for small business and marketers all over the world (provided you have a good connection). It’s awesome because live video removes the barriers between brand and customer, allowing you to put a face to the company and to speak directly and casually to them, whether you are offering thought leadership, or insights into your solutions.  Check out these 8 Best Practices for Facebook Live.

Facebook Live Rolls Out Continuous Video Streaming: This enables you to live video stream persistently for 24-hours. Hundreds of people can experience the exact same moment at the exact same time. Unlike Facebook Live, you won’t be able to permanently save and share the video.

Twitter

Twitter Removes URLs and Photos from 140-Character Count: Finally! Tweets will now be a full 140-character count, which is great, as it allows you to express so much more, even when you post a photo or a URL. @names will also no longer take up space in the 140-character count, which means you no longer have to penny pinch and use awkward abbreviations. Great news for marketers looking for better ways to express themselves on Twitter.

Now you can express yourself in 140 characters and still add photos and URLs.

Twitter Opens Audience Platform Worldwide:  Twitter now allows advertisers to extend their campaigns to all 800,000 million visitors around the world, across the Twitter website or any of the many websites and mobile apps. This is great news for small businesses who wish to reach a wider global audience.

Twitter Introduces New Ad Formats: Account manager clients only can now upload creative formats in standard IAB ad sizes, in addition to transforming their Promoted Tweets into interstitials, banners and native ads. This is fantastic news for advertisers who want to test their creatives for a variety of campaigns that extend beyond Twitter.
