It’s important that we meet our supporters where they are, and social media helps us accomplish this. Many of the Washington, DC residents that donate and volunteer fall within the 25-40 age range, and are social media/web savvy. That’s a lot of pressure on our social media team..

[Social Media] Why a Blog Disclaimer Is Just as Important as a Disclosure Message
My belief – and something we instill into any clients that have a blogger or social media outreach program in place – is that you need to offer full disclosure whenever necessary. Yet just as important as disclosure – and, perhaps even more so, depending on the circumstances – is the topic of disclaimers, and when you need to have that on your blog (or other social interactions). What You Advise Isn’t Always What You Know. good example of the need for a disclaimer is over at a post by Julien Smith, entitled How to Lose 20+ lbs in January 2011.

Remember, though, that if you write a post at 2am, you’ll want to wait to announce it to social media sites when your followers are most active. Share their posts on social media. Absolutely.
