If Facebook is a media company, we then have to ask ourselves: what kind of media channel does Facebook provide and how does it compare to those other media channels? Whether it’s Twitter or some other form of social media,  or perhaps something else, if you have an outlet where you can share on a more personal level, it does seem to “humanize&# you a little. Multi-media. Similarly, using different forms of media has the potential to humanize you. While it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, multi-media can certainly add something when it comes to building personal connections. This has happened to me numerous times over the years. Tell personal stories. Write as you speak.

    What does all of this have to do with the cheeky social media snark we normally serve up here? Maddie and I attended the ASAE Summit Awards Dinner a few days ago. It’s a beautiful event held annually in Washington, DC. We were at the National Building Museum, with it’s spectacular architecture highlighted with uplights, an understated stage set, and beautiful party decor. We had drinks, wine and a three-course dinner. And a lot of money was raised for ASAE’s Power of A Fund. For the 1,100 people who attended last night, it was an awesome, memorable event.
