[Social Media] Use Word-of-Mouth Promotion to Boost Blog Traffic
love the idea of using a blog as your personal hub, and how it creates a centralised space for all your social media sites, your portfolio, and more. Most bloggers and social media professionals promote a link to their blog or website, and shamelessly direct traffic towards their personal hub. Over the past few months, I’ve attended a few social media conferences, and met dozens of social media professionals. This guest post is by Jeszlene Zhou of First Communication Job. ” Here’s a true story. You—and everyone! Where?

[Social Media] Content marketing, user data and the dangers of free WordPress themes
More and more companies are realising how useful content and social media marketing can be, and how much ROI it can produce, so you’re going to see more and more content fighting for attention. Given that I’ve just been writing about social media content and user data from the perspective of future historians having access, it’s also important to consider what happens to that data if a site sells to another owner, rather than shutting down. And given that it takes time to build an attentive audience, you don’t want to wait around any longer !

[Social Media] When is the Best Time to Post a Blog Post?
By posting quickly and getting the word out (by using social media sites), others will notice and they will link to your blog post. Bloggers and media outlets don’t tend to like to link out to press releases unless that’s the only reference out there: and most likely, if they’re writing about the company announcement, someone else will: so make sure that your own blog has information about the topic. When you make a blog post, I recommend immediately sharing it with others on as many social bookmarking and social networking web sites as you can.
