Brightkite automatically creates a short URL for every check-in and cross-posts to Twitter, Flickr and Facebook, though the Facebook implementation has had some issues. Foursquare is available for iPhone and Android , and can also be managed via SMS. (This is a critical capability and one Brightkite did not always have.)
