[SMS] Words That Totally Make My Head Hurt | Almost Savvy
Character counts: When we’re using Twitter or SMS text messages, we are limited to a certain number of characters and this tends to lead to a lot of creativity. I get this, but I don’t get why I see these same abbreviations in emails or other communications. What’s up with those people anyway? Don’t they know how to spell? Did they nap all through elementary school? I’m sure that people have always misspelled words since the dawn of written language. Where was spell-check when they needed it? Even when you spell it that way often, it’s still wrong.

[SMS] Hindustan Times Story: “Social” is About Both the Medium and the Message
There is a reluctance to get on to the SMS in the West – in the US and Europe – but the Asia-Pacific region is using social networking sites more vigorously for marketing,&# said Deepak Mukharji, country head-corporate affairs of Shell Group of Companies. I was quoted recently in a Hindustan Times story on social media marketing in India. So, if brands wish to connect with their consumers, they need to re-evaluate both the medium and the message. By the way, I am endlessly amused by how journalists tend to attribute a quote to me with statistics I have never seen before!

[SMS] Dialogue: A Perspective on Nurturing and Lead Management
Charles Hartness. To find a solution to a problem, most of us need to engage in a dialogue with a solution provider.  As a solution provider, you need to find people with a problem who can use your particular brand of solution and then engage them in a dialogue about why you have something that will meet their needs.  Whether you are solution-searching or solution-selling, the nature of the dialogue is essential to the delivery of the right solution. Call me “old-fashioned,” but I believe there is still great power in the art of talking.
