Mobile is not ‘new’ media any more
Many forces were working to make available inventory that could work across platforms – voice, SMS, WAP and video can be contextually targeted with simple interactive tools. The biggest opportunity for an advertiser is SMS and voice. While there are only 14-20 per cent users for mobile content, the penetration of SMS is 90 per cent and that of voice, 100 per cent. If the joke that people engage more with their mobile phones than they do with their spouses is indeed true, then it’s good news for the medium, especially where advertising is concerned.

    Is it the Mobile time?
Leveraging these in the market through services such as SMS, voice, mobile Internet and applications in accordance to every subscriber’s taste makes the difference. Sending SMS alerts is the commonest mobile advertising method, where supply outstrips demand. Using mobile responses by way of SMS for evaluating the offline media mix is a good idea,” citing the example of Intel. For Intel, Interactive Avenues tried to gauge which of three print ads was most effective, by way of the number of responses garnered via SMS. The Internet was labelled new media 10 years ago.

have to believe US numbers are much different, given the extraordinary level of immediate opt-out weve seen in SMS campaigns. Steve is using Posterous to post everything online. Shouldnt you? And not just by a little either but a lot. In some countries like China, the figures for branded web sites are off the charts. The takeaway here is that anyone can become a trusted resource. Over time, I suspect that as marketers fully understand this shift in attitude so will the dollars. Stats Trust Permalink Tweet Comments 5 Comments Jul 17, 2009 Domen said. Twitter Keeps Going Down – Finally I Can Get Some Work Done
So if you like to text, use SMS messaging. With Twitter going up and down so much today, I thought I’d weigh in my $0.02 here in a slightly more than 140 character statement. Twitter is awesome, let’s get that straight. But sometimes, it really draws you in and takes you away from getting things done. So, how do you keep Twitter at bay? Here are a 5 things that I do to preserve sanity: Greet your followers. reply (@) to just about every non-bot that follows me. This is a great way to reach your audience while keeping active on Twitter at the same time. Pick a time. Digg this!

Cure Your Fail Whale Twitter Blues With Identi.ca
More upcoming features include SMS, URL shortening or cross posting to similar platforms. If you too got fed up with the whale carrying birds, then you must have turned you attention and free time to another micro-blogging platform. First came Jaiku, then Pownce, after which people started turning to Twitter. When the whale failed ashore, we turned our attention to Plurk. Not a new player has come into the scene by the name of Identi.ca. So after hearing people talking about it, I too decided to create an account just to claim my username. So why haven’t you heard more of it? Digg this!

Twitter – Do Friends Count More than Followers? HP Academic Research
HP Lab’s research conducted on twitter – the world’s greatest public SMS network shows that the number of friends (and not user’s number of followers) is the actual driver of twitter user’s activity. In this post I will review HP’s research findings and present my disagreement with the research conclusions. study of social interactions within Twitter (via Snake Coffee ), conducted by B. Huberman, D.M. Romero, and F. Wu (HP Labs) reveals that the driver of usage is a sparse and hidden network of connections underlying the “declared” set of friends and followers.

Is Twitter the Next Channel for Contact Centers?
Much like chat and SMS the era of communications becoming more and more synchronous is upon us. If you have never seen this web page [link] - you should! With legions of Twitter-ers on staff - 432 to be exact - Zappos make customer service look: easy, decentralized, and inexpensive. But that begs the question - what impact will Twitter have on today’s customer contact centers? History would tell us that just like the days when ATM’s were first being rolled out and people were declaring that the bank teller was soon to be extinct, that this never really materialized fully.

    Can Twitters growth continue?
think the teen market needs to be convinced more of the value of twitter over SMS or Facebook updates. The most recent numbers from Nielsen indicate that Twitter grew 1,382% year-over-year, registering a total of just more than 7 million unique visitors in the US. Not only is that huge growth in one year, but in one month like in January, Twitter.com clocked 4.5 million unique visitors in the US, meaning the service grew by more than 50 percent month-over-month. But can that Growth be sustained? It is hard to imagine that any technology could sustain that kind of growth.
