[SMS] Twitter to Offer Deals with Earlybird
With only two tweets on the site (one of them says “ Send “follow earlybird&# to 40404 to receive each deal via SMS. I’m a big fan of group coupon networks, deals and discounts offered through Twitter. In these times what’s not to love about buying a coupon for a dinner at 40 or 50% of it’s market value? It’s a win for the vendor too because they get new faces in the door and most times we spend more than the coupon. Sometimes I even forget I bought it and the money I spent stays in the pocket of the vendor. guess the investors are buying it too!

[SMS] Our Shifting Notion of Search, Social and Mobile.
SMS drives conversation and just as search has become somewhat of a utility for the desktop, the smartphone is now the defacto device for driving purchases, for buying tickets, for research, for email, for being social and oh by the way…making phone calls. 10 years ago seems so 10 years ago in the world of search, social and mobile. We’ve definitely evolved and rightly or wrongly so depending on your point of view. Take for example search. In 2000 Google was a 2 year old start-up still trying to create an identity and compete with Yahoo and MSN. How do we use search now?

[SMS] Words That Totally Make My Head Hurt | Almost Savvy
Character counts: When we’re using Twitter or SMS text messages, we are limited to a certain number of characters and this tends to lead to a lot of creativity. I get this, but I don’t get why I see these same abbreviations in emails or other communications. What’s up with those people anyway? Don’t they know how to spell? Did they nap all through elementary school? I’m sure that people have always misspelled words since the dawn of written language. Where was spell-check when they needed it? Even when you spell it that way often, it’s still wrong.
