Comparing the present to the past is more evident with data from Quantcast , a company that has measured my site for years. Here is Quantcast data of unique visitors from 2009 to present. I imagine this is related to less visitors but more engaged visitors, especially as the duration per visit remains constant at under a minute each.

Looking at Quantcast data, creating a profile of you in correlation to other websites you visit that are also tracked by them, my median visitor is a single Caucasian women, aged 25 to 34, politically independent with a graduate degree and an annual salary over $150,000.
