I’m trying to keep my focus in this case on activists and their issues with privacy online. This is one example of social media being used to secure the privacy of an individual. Of course, we are all aware of the privacy issues now in the news about Facebook and other major networking sites. Any website, including social media sites that gather data from EU citizens, must comply with these rules. Update your terms of use and privacy policies to be in compliance.

Search for yourself, not just on Google but on Bing and popular social sites. Isn’t that nice? Untag photos on Facebook.

It seems that Google is taking on the Facebook like, and +1 buttons will start showing up on web sites so you can like a web site and have it show up in your like stream too. Is it going to stir up another privacy debate? Is this a bad thing? Likely so… What do you think?

Just click on “Privacy Settings&#. It may be that Facebook is finally listening to users and giving them access to the information they need to really use the site effectively. Last but not least the Facebook insights which gives you information on who accesses your page and how often, is getting richer too. What do YOU think?

This is where you can add other email addresses to login with, decide what applications have access to your profile, turn Google+ on on non-Google sites etc. Profile and Privacy.
