Mashable is reporting that Google is planning to rebrand two of its largest Web products – Picasa and Blogger. I understand rebranding Picasa. When I think of Picasa, I think of Picasso – the famous painter. But Picasa is about photos, not paintings. But Picasa is about photos, not paintings.

Using Google’s photo sharing service, Picasa, you can share your photos and have unlimited space to store them, increasing your ability to share through Google+. Google Maps and Google Places are tied to Google+ so you have a built-in local component to the service as well. This ability will actually get better over time.

Other services I’d like to see added to Klout’s metric and tracking for social media are StumbleUpon, Groupon, Ning, Picasa, and BlogCatalog. I’d say that Klout has realized that social media influence goes well beyond Facebook and Twitter, which means it is serious about being the premier metric platform for social media.

Easy Picasa image incorporation. This plugin is a good start. I think you’ll see future developments of this plugin incorporating other Google services, such as: Google Analytics. YouTube embedding.
