Once it’s set up on your site, users can log in using their Google, AOL, Yahoo, or OpenID account…no need to create another username and password. Currently it only offers a few “gadgets&# but I’m sure it will be rolling out more down the road.

Sites like these usually have their own private groups for the contributors to the blog, which is definitely a great idea. Or, you can even include direct links to the post on social sites or add your preferred tweet text in the group. For example, if I were to have a list for promoting posts on my own site, it would look like this.

Site Explorer to see who’s linking to your site. Use heat map tools like CrazyEgg to see how people relate to your site. Make sure it’s easy to comment on your site. Make sure it’s easy for people to subscribe to your site’s content. Register your site with all the top search engines.
