The links from the profile page may have nofollow tags, but they will drive traffic and different search engines treat the nofollow tag differently. People use various social media sites in different ways. Be there, and tell them you’re there. There could be an SEO boost in it for you. Expand your social network.

While comments and any links you include in your description will have the rel=”nofollow” attribute, YouTube gives you a link in your profile that is devoid of no – follow. Also in the Digg and Reddit category. Plus, you can submit articles you want to promote, and links to those articles are followed by search engines.
