Citing privacy concerns and not wanting strangers to know where I was every moment I checked in to a location, I deleted my Foursquare account 14 months ago. Forrester Research recently surveyed 37,000 mobile users and in its report issued this month, a mere 2% of those users had Foursquare accounts. Was the second camp right?

While metrics showing website visitors are not spectacular, the tool shines on any mobile device that can transmit GPS information. Here is a demo screenshot from Glympse.com. The tool is reminiscent of Google Latitude meeting a text message.

Checking-into a location on a mobile device and sharing that location with the world can promote networking and raise awareness of the business or event at the location. But there are also concerns with privacy and this is why I deleted my account. Brady was put to sleep in August 2010 and I wrote this in May 2011.
