BBC News – Great mobile interface for catching up on the latest news. TweetDeck – Interface could use some work, but still a good app. Kayak – Pulls in prices from numerous travel sites, including Travelocity (#client). NYT Editors’ Choice – It’s the NYT. NPR – Another great news app.

Are there specific Twitter tools you recommend someone use, whether desktop or mobile? I use Hootsuite as my primary dashboard but it will be interesting to see what happens now that Twitter purchased Tweetdeck. One day after class, a student told me that the handbook was worth the price of the entire class! What’s the point?

Twitter Tweetdeck I use Tweetdeck for serious twitter sessions. It doesn’t have the advanced functionality of Tweetdeck (such as cross-posting to Facebook), but it’s so easy-to-use that it’s my favorite Twitter app. Pricing is very reasonable, as you can download and use 60 images a year for just $229.
