Hangouts don’t work on a mobile device for pages. You can’t manage your page from a mobile device. A page doesn’t get notifications by email, text or in the Google+ bar, so it’s hard to keep on top of your discussions. The only way to know if your page has new comments is to browse the feed for the page.

Mobile use on YouTube is up almost 40% of the global watch time. Frankly, 80% out there is dreck, but boy are we making a LOT of it! Some quick stats on YouTube usage: Youtube claims more than a billion users visit per month. Users watch over 6 billion hours of video every month. 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute.

Twitter will ask for your mobile number and send you a text with a verification code when you try to log into Twitter. Change your password to something smarter than “IHatePsswrds”, and plan to change it quarterly. Don’t use the same password on all of the sites you access. Shake it up a little.

I still recommend it if you have a Twitter acct as Periscope can leverage the social graph to spread the word about your video stream, but if you don’t have a Twitter account you can simply sign up with just a mobile phone number. Sign in with your Twitter acct (preferred) or your mobile phone number. Create your username.

And of course, once you’re using the app you’ll get notifications when people you follow are streaming and can jump on to see what’s up. What a great way to take advantage of being at a conference.
