Sports have been played, enjoyed by spectators and covered by the media since well before the advent of smartphones and social media. But it’s no question that the development of social platforms has changed how we play, enjoy and cover sports. Twitter is the new sports ticker. Facebook is the new hub for fans.

I am among a number of people who have had list functionality added as part of Twitter’s beta rollout of the new feature. Twitter is promoting the feature at the top of the home page with: Lists are timelines you build yourself, consisting of friends, family, co-workers, sports teams, you name it. Watch for more from Twitter.

I, too, find that Twitter has been incredibly powerful for me to connect with real life colleagues, readers of Techipedia, family, and everyone in between. I’m also something of a Twitter purist. Enter a second Twitter account. With Twitter being so incredibly large and vast, there are different types of mini-communities.

Use categories YouTube uses categories to group videos into broad topics, like “Sports” or “Technology”. That said, our experts did note that embedding YouTube videos in microblogs (like Twitter or Tumblr) can also have a positive SEO impact. Of course, this assumes you already have an active blog.)
