Here’s a list of some great tools to help you get the most out of your YouTube Channel.

  1. Optimize your channel with TubeBuddy

TubeBuddy is a very useful browser extension that can help you optimize your YouTube videos and grow your channel. I use it to optimize the SEO on all my videos. The great thing about TubeBuddy is that it enables you to use a set of SEO tools right from the YouTube’s website.

Something that I find very useful are the Bulk Processing tools that let you automate time consuming tasks such as adding annotations, cards, or descriptions to multiple videos. Tags suggestions from similar videos are also a time saver!

But one feature that is particularly useful is keyword research that can help you optimize your videos for YouTube search.

TubeBuddy provides you with a checklist of things you need for your video to achieve maximum results. The only thing you need to do is go through the checklist (the tool guides you through it step by step as you upload your video) and make sure all the boxes can be ticked before you make your video public.

  1. Manage your channel with Agorapulse

 This is a new functionality that the team over at AgoraPulse just recently introduced. AgoraPulse is my favorite social media management tool, and with the addition of the Youtube integration, I’m liking it even more!

With the new YouTube management features, you’ll be able to:

  • Manage comments from all your videos in one place. You can respond to comments, hide and review them, and even add tags to enable better organization.
  • Create keyword searches to find YouTube videos that you’d want to know about and engage with. Useful for discovering user generated videos around your brand or product.

According to AgoraPulse, they will add more new features very soon, including the ability to ban a user from commenting on the channel, see the user’s comment history, and much more.

  1. Edit your videos with ScreenFlow

ScreenFlow is a powerful tool for creating and editing videos on MAC. If you are a PC user, you can check out Camtasia.

When you record a video, you can easily add transitions, music, and text and video animations. The tool also features video and text animations that you can use to animate graphics, titles, and logos.

ScreenFlow is incredibly feature-reach but it’s also very intuitive so you can do basic editing very easily. However, you’ll need to set aside some time to get familiar with the advanced stuff.

  1. Create animated videos with GoAnimate

 Go Animate is a perfect tool for creating quality animated videos on a budget. It lets you to build your video scene by scene by adding characters, scenes, and props with an easy-to-use drag and drop editor.

You start off by selecting a template and, based on the template you choose, you’ll have different design elements that you can add to your video.

You will also have the option to add a background, add sound, and build up your video sequence.

  1. Analyze your competitor channel with Birdsong

Birdsong is a great tool for competitive analysis and it’s priced per report.  By analyzing your competitors’ channels, you’ll understand what works and doesn’t work for them which may give you some ideas for how to better engage your viewers.

The tool enables you to gather useful stats, such as your competitors’ best time/day to upload videos to get likes and comments, the words they use most frequently in captions, how length of video affects engagement, etc.

There are more than 30 metrics you can tap into for any YouTube channel out there!

  1. Analyze your own channel with Socialblade or Cyfe

Cyfe is one of the best ways to monitor the progress of your entire channel and track metrics for each individual video.

To get started, you’ll need to create an account and add a YouTube widget (select from the available social media widgets) to your reporting dashboard.  Next you’ll need to configure the widget to track the stats around individual videos or your channel.

You will also be able to select from a wide variety of metrics that you want to track, such as views, engagement, viewers retention, traffic sources, and much more. The dashboard you configure will be updated in real-time.

Social Blade is another useful YouTube statistics tracking tool that makes it easy to monitor the growth of your channel.

It lets you track subscriber and views metrics, track milestones, perform comparative analysis of up to three channels, and more.

  1. Create video imagery with Canva

Canva is a widely popular tool for creating professional looking images for social media. What made it so popular is the fact that you don’t need to be a designer in order to use it.

Canva offers a simple drag and drop editor which makes image creation incredibly easy. There is also a library of background images, stock photos and designs available to help you create your images.

How’s this relevant to YouTube videos? If you want more people to click on your videos (and who doesn’t want that!?!), you’ll need to make it as attractive as possible to potential viewers. And you can do this by creating a custom thumbnail for each video.

To do this, you would typically need to have some design skills, unles you use a tool like Canva.
With Canva, you can easily create click-compelling thumbnails to attract more views and clicks from YouTube search.
