I recently read an interesting article on The Guardian about Microsoft releasing apps for the iPad. The Guardian article points out several times that Microsoft’s biggest driver behind any play here would be revenue. For a solution, Microsoft doesn’t have to turn much farther than Adobe who is already working hard to capture the mobile working crowd.

Facebook and Microsoft are going under, as in underwater: The two tech giants will team up to build a new, state-of-the-art subsea cable across the Atlantic Ocean. The new cable, MAREA, will be the highest-capacity subsea cable to cross the Atlantic upon its completion, with eight fiber pairs and an estimated capacity of 160 terabits per second, and Facebook and Microsoft said the capacity will help meet growing demand for high-speed, reliable connections for cloud and online services. We think this is how most subsea cable systems will be built in the future.
