“I love it when a plan comes together!” Emory’s has an interesting history as the original building actually burned to the ground a few years ago and was completely rebuilt and re-launched.  It’s a fantastic restaurant right off a small lake, and their are very few options like it in the area.  Good food, great environment, and fantastic service.  They were doing good business, but wanted to ensure they didn’t suffer from the same early year drops in business. The plan consisted of: Give their FB page creative a facelift. Create and launch a promotion.

Jason Yormark

My Blog Monetization Results

Jason Yormark

Not in my opinion.  It’s not really a knock on IZEA in anyway, the market bears what the market bears, so what it really comes down to is that if you want to incorporate an impression based monetization strategy on your blog, you better be in the 100,000 page views per month for it to bear any real fruit. Here are the results for the past month: Total Impressions: 9,384. eCPM: $.0.81 0.81 (amount paid per 1,000 impressions). Total earnings: $7.60. So in essence I earned a couple cups of coffee. Worth it? Therefore, I’ll stick to that model. Blogging

Social Reach: Size Does Matter

Jason Yormark

Almost 3 years ago a bomb dropped on me when Microsoft laid me off. I did not see it coming, nor should I have as they never had laid anyone in history of the company. I was ill prepared to enter the job market with thousands of other unfortunate souls. I had failed to focus substantial efforts on my own social credentials. I was fortunate however to have a decent enough severance package to buy me the time to focus on myself. And that’s exactly what I did concentrating on blogging, building my social following, and influence in social marketing. All of this is is very true.

I’ve been often amazed at throughout my jobs how much more importance is put on talking about doing things, versus actually doing them.  At one of my previous employer’s, it was incredibly common for many folks to be praised and rewarded not so much for the results they actually delivered, but the way they presented their work.

Facebook Page Or Profile? I Say Both.

Click Edit Page, Marketing, Send Update). I wrestled with the idea of creating a Facebook Page for my blog vs. just utilizing my Facebook Profile to promote.  My initial thought was that I didn’t really see myself as being “celebrity” enough to warrant having what was once referred to as a “fan page”.  It felt a bit vain to me, but I started to sense that I needed to re-visit the issue as more and more people I did not really know wanted to start connecting with me on Facebook professionally.
