Four PR PodcastsBy Gini Dietrich

On the fourth day of Christmas, Spin Sucks gave to you…..four PR podcasts, three productivity toolstwo secrets to being part of the Spin Sucks Crazies, and the one PR tool you need for 2016.

That’s right, boys and girls! Today Santa is bringing you the four PR podcasts that you should add to your listening queue.

Podcasting has been around for a while, but I think it was Serial that made the content tactic popular again (if you haven’t listened, you’d better get to it…it’s pretty incredible).

I say this as a person who a) isn’t an auditory learner; b) doesn’t have a commute (unless you count the 10 or so steps from my bedroom to my office); and c) prefers to take Peleton classes from my iPad while stuck on the trainer during the wintertime.

Listen to Serial. Do it. Do it now.

And then get in the habit and add these four PR podcasts.

Four PR Podcasts

  1. Inside PR. Of course I have to recommend the podcast I co-host with Joe Thornley and Martin Waxman. I mean, if you aren’t already listening, what are you waiting for? Get to it! We talk about the latest PR news, each provide something the listeners should pay attention to for the week (tools, tips, news), and then discuss a hot topic. It’s always fun because Joe and I quite often disagree (while being friendly and fun) and Martin takes the Switzerland stance.
  2. Ada’s Sisters. Eden Spodek would probably tell you Ada’s Sisters is not a PR podcast, but I would disagree. While she and Angela have billed the podcast as, “a weekly podcast about technology and digital culture,” the topics are typically very PR-friendly. As well, they record on Blab so they’re ahead of the trends when it comes to livestreaming and video. They’ve recently covered what to do when a prospect wants free ideas, as well as the Starbucks red cup controversy. It’s a PR podcast.
  3. Trafcom News Podcast. Hosted by Donna Papacosta (also the co-author of a new book about podcasting), Trafcom is a podcast about better employee and internal communications. She talks the gamut from content marketing and writing to social media and speaking. And, because she is considered an expert on podcasting, you’re sure to glean information on how you could start your own.
  4. FIR Podcast Network. Alright, I’m cheating on this one. It’s a network that Shel Holtz created and I’m fairly certain it has every PR podcast known to man in it. Check out Shows in the navigation and see what catches your eye.

And now it is your turn. Which PR podcasts do you recommend? This is not an easy question because there are plenty of marketing podcasts, but the PR ones are few and far between.
