The structure and need for social media policies or guidelines have gotten a lot of press and more is written every day. Don’t just publish the guidelines and expect people to follow them.

Ideally any association with a magazine or journal, books, pamphlets, newsletters, white papers, research articles and a web site has purchased media liability insurance. All exposures associations had before social media; the only difference is the speed of information. However many associations don’t have media liability insurance.
