Why Klout Doesn’t Measure True Influence

Waxing UnLyrical

I’ll admit that it’s fun to bash Klout. I have the belief that, despite what Klout says, it ties a large part of how “influential” you are directly to how much you tweet. That’s my Klout score over the past several weeks. This is the main reason I just can’t take Klout incredibly seriously.

Why I Can’t Trust Klout Anymore

Bill Hartzer

Klout is a site that measures your influence on the web, using social media sites. Essentially, the more influential you are on social media websites, the higher your Klout score is. The score goes from 1 to 100, and I would say that it’s pretty easy to get a Klout score of 30 or higher. Let me explain.

When #measurePR met Klout

Waxing UnLyrical

Last week, the special guest on #measurePR was Megan Berry of Klout. Why You Should Care About Klout

Ari Herzog

The recent addition of LinkedIn to the mix of social media considered when calculating a Klout score has left many wondering about Klout, how to raise your score, and whether it matters after all. Have you heard of Klout ? What is Klout? Klout’s algorithm strives to measure a user’s online influence.

#measurePR Aug. 21, ’12: How Much #kred Does #klout Have?

Waxing UnLyrical

The August 21 #MeasurePR chat was a fun and lively discussion about a few topics of interest to measurement geeks—including the notorious topic we love to pick apart: Klout. Here are some highlights: Klout has recently made changes to its algorithm, many of which appear to be in response to (heavy) criticism of the “influence” tool.
