Why Klout Doesn’t Measure True Influence

Waxing UnLyrical

I’ll admit that it’s fun to bash Klout. I have the belief that, despite what Klout says, it ties a large part of how “influential” you are directly to how much you tweet. That’s my Klout score over the past several weeks. This is the main reason I just can’t take Klout incredibly seriously.

#measurePR: Influence and Social Media

Waxing UnLyrical

And since the topic of influence in social media isn’t going away any time soon, particularly with new tools cropping up , we thought we’d talk about that. How do you approach measuring influence in social media? I’ve said more than enough about Klout so I won’t say anything more right now!

While I Was Out: Reflections On a Social Media Hiatus

Waxing UnLyrical

So I figured I’d just share some of what I experienced the last several months… consider them reflections on a social media hiatus from a business point of view. If you’re concerned about your “standing” or social scores (cough, Klout, cough) in social media, then you have a panic attack.
