» Kudos To HubPages Anyone who has read my blog for very long knows that I am a strong advocate of article marketing. That is, I believe that writing articles and publishing off of your website with links back to your website is a good way to promote yourself online. But I guess not. Everyone wins. How can that be bad?

Look at your skills and abilities as well as the human resources at your disposal before determining what type of online publishing you will undertake.

HubPages – HubPages is somewhat like Squidoo, though not as sophisticated graphically. Squidoo – The brainchild of permission marketing guru Seth Godin. Build information portals called Lenses and use it to build links to your most cherished web properties. You can also monetize your Lenses.

Content marketing includes writing articles, blog posts, guest posts on other blogs, articles and content for your website, creating videos, creating podcasts, press releases … anywhere you can create and publish content online. Once the content is written, you then begin to utilize it to link to your website or blog.

Try HubPages, Google Knol, and Squidoo Lenses. Or find websites within your niche that publish articles. Where are they publishing? What are they publishing? But there is actually a better way to go about marketing your business and your website these days. Even niche-related blogs. Whose doing what?

Large content repositories like this and Hubpages (below) may have been devalued somewhat in Google’s most recent “Panda&# overhaul of its algorithm. But you can use this site to recycle blog posts that you have published elsewhere, and pick up an additional link.

Unloads Delicious Kudos To HubPages » Revamping Old Content About once a year or so you should go through your old content and update it. Rewrite it so that it isn’t duplicate content and distribute it to a few publishers around the Web to see if someone wants it. Sometimes you can turn a popular blog post into an article.
