Schedule posts and updates to your page via HootSuite or Amplify. It’s not fine, IMHO, to send out auto-DMs when someone starts following you on Twitter. So until Facebook comes up with a solution, schedule your posts through HootSuite or Amplify, both of which let you schedule any number of updates ahead of time.

It integrates with Twitter, which was the first reason I took to it. So when I post to Amplify, it posts to Twitter as well (assuming I’ve set up the sync) – and I can post to as many Twitter accounts as I like. I know we can do that for Twitter through HootSuite, etc., It’s easy.

I would then promote it on my blog posts, through social media ( Twitter , Pinterest ), on my email signature line ( by the way, check out this free tool from Hootsuite ), via guest posts on influencers websites, and basically every time I opened my mouth. If you use HootSuite to manage your social platforms, every time you click on someone’s profile, you’re hit in the face with their Klout score. It doesn’t matter whether or not they have a gazillion Twitter followers. I left my $0.02 there; I suggest you do so as well.

A friend, whom I have introduced to Twitter, sends me emails with questions about various Twitter tools. When someone who is starting on Twitter or doesn’t have much of a network uses them, it tells me several things about them. If one uses Twitter for tweeting, then they have one column showing their stream.

HootSuite has great apps for both the iPhone and iPad, so I have it set up on both. Hot top: in HootSuite’s desktop version, specifically with Facebook, in addition to setting up profiles for your personal and business page (or pages you manage), you can also set up profiles for specific Facebook groups you participate in regularly.
