HootSuite offers many great features that can aid bloggers in managing their Twitter accounts for blogging uses including promotion, monitoring, keyword tracking, reputation management and more. The following are reasons I chose to use HootSuite as my primary Twitter management tool, and the ways I use it to help in my blogging.

The other tool is HootSuite. Some people think TweetDeck is better than HootSuite, but I disagree. TweetDeck may have its advantages with a clean interface and URL shortener, but when it comes down to it, HootSuite delivers more value in these areas: Speed: TweetDeck’s Adobe Air is a massive resource hog.

There are several other options, such as Flickr, Tumblr, WordPress, Blogger, etc… even Ping.fm. I know we can do that for Twitter through HootSuite, etc., “Well, I can do this through HootSuite, etc.,&# you say. I don’t auto-post to all of those, but it’s nice to have the option. Can you say OMIGOD?!

It works like bit.ly, but incorporates all URL shorteners into the data mix. The dominant URL shortener is also the best – in my opinion – at tracking and analytics. URLs whenever possible, and make liberal use of their “+&# feature. URL to see how many times it’s been clicked on, and by whom.
